Hospice of Dickinson County will host the monthly Hospice Volunteers meeting on Tuesday, May 15, at 6:30 p.m. at the Home Health and Hospice Office, 1111 N. Brady, Abilene.
Debbie Bielefeld, Hospice Volunteer Coordinator, will present a video of the PBS program “Being Mortal.” In the documentary, surgeon and writer Dr. Atul Gawande goes behind closed doors to witness intimate end-of-life conversations among doctors, patients, and their families. Dr. Gawande believes there must be a better way to help patients navigate the end of life.
