MHS Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine Welcomes New Physical Therapist

Memorial Health System (MHS) Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine welcomes new Physical Therapist, Kyle Bowers, PT, DPT, to their team. Kyle began working at MHS on September 28th.

Kyle grew up in Sidney, Nebraska and graduated high school there. “Some know it as the hometown of Cabela’s,” Kyle said. “Fun facts: my mother and father were both models in some of the first magazines, and my mother sewed the first prototype of one of their popular field hunting pants.”

Kyle graduated from the University of Nebraska Kearney with a BS in Exercise Physiology, and then graduated with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Creighton University in 2010.

Prior to MHS, Kyle worked in Belleville, KS at Republic County Hospital for seven years. “My primary emphasis was outpatient orthopedic and vestibular rehabilitation. Before that I was in Maryville, Missouri at St. Francis Hospital for four years with an emphasis on orthopedic sports medicine.”

“Kyle brings a lot of good experience to our department, and already has been a great addition to our rehab team,” MHS Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine Director, Jeff Sanborn said.

Kyle always knew he wanted to work in medicine, “I started out as Pre-Pharmacy, but Organic Chemistry and I were not friends. I took a Kinesiology course, and fell in love with how the body works and moves. The body was created in such a special way that it is truly a privilege to help people restore function and get back to their lives.”

He says he and his wife, Shawna, have three crazy, but beautiful children. Lane is 7, Micah is 3 ½ and Reagan turned 1 on the 20th of October. “Our house is in chaos 24/7 with the kids, but the two older kids have found friends and are always playing outside with the neighbors.” Kyle’s hobbies are outdoor activities, including hunting and fishing (when, or more accurately if, there is time) and Nebraska Sports, “We love our Husker football and volleyball teams.”
