The 3rd Annual Coyote Crazy Parkinson’s Benefit Poker Walk was held September 10th at Brown’s Park south of Abilene. The event is held in honor of Dennis Rider, Abilene, and all others fighting the fight against Parkinson’s Disease. Rider wanted to, again, keep the funds local. Coyote Crazy recently donated $20,000 to Impact Sports and Fitness for the Parkinson’s program. The amount is the same as the 2021 donation.

RaeLyn Racy, Impact Sports and Fitness Director, stated “Since the donation last year, Impact Sports and Fitness has averaged, monthly, servicing 17 individuals diagnosed with Parkinson’s. These services consist of monthly memberships, classes, personal training sessions, massage therapy, and the NormaTec recovery system. We were able to purchase equipment to be used in classes and training sessions and also purchased an upper body E trainer machine. It has been amazing watching these individuals utilize our facility and take part in our programs, and see the progress they have made. We are so thankful to have been chosen to receive these funds and provide those fighting Parkinson’s the opportunity to participate in our program.”

Impact Sports and Fitness also has a piece of equipment called the BoxMaster, which is great for people coping with Parkinson’s. The facility continues to build more classes and add more services for this program. Impact Sports and Fitness wants to continue to get the word out to people fighting Parkinson’s that they can go to their facility to participate in classes and use equipment FREE of charge, thanks to this donation.
