Impact the Cure is an annual Breast Cancer Awareness 5k Run (no run for 2022) and 2-Mile Fun Walk in downtown Abilene, Kansas (Old Abilene Town for 2022). It is hosted by Impact Sports and Fitness, 418 N. Broadway.
Funds raised from Impact the Cure are designated to support breast cancer services to include free mammography services for uninsured in Dickinson County.
A mammogram is a series of X-ray images of breast tissue. It is a valuable screening that can detect breast cancer early, before a suspicious lump can be felt. Memorial Hospital uses digital mammography. The mammography services at Memorial Hospital are accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR).
Mammography services are provided by Memorial Hospital’s Imaging and Radiology Department, 511 NE 10th Street, in Abilene.
For more information or to schedule an appointment, please contact Memorial Hospital at (785) 263-6660. Ask about the free mammography program.
