What is Impact the Cure?

Impact the Cure is an annual Breast Cancer Awareness 5k Run and 2-Mile Fun Walk in downtown Abilene, Kansas. It is hosted by Impact Sports and Fitness, 418 N. Broadway.

Where do the funds raised go?

Funds raised from Impact the Cure are designated to support breast cancer services to include free mammography services for uninsured in Dickinson County.

What is a mammogram and what type of procedure is used?

A mammogram is a series of X-ray images of breast tissue. It is a valuable screening that can detect breast cancer early, before a suspicious lump can be felt. Memorial Hospital uses digital mammography. The mammography services at Memorial Hospital are accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR).

Mammography services are provided by Memorial Hospital’s Imaging and Radiology Department, 511 NE 10th Street, in Abilene.

How do I schedule an appointment?

For more information or to schedule an appointment, please contact Memorial Hospital at (785) 263-6660. Ask about the free mammography program.
