Village Manor Storm Shelter

The Village Manor Storm Shelter represents a meaningful investment in the safety and well-being of our long-term care residents, staff, and visitors. Built to provide a secure refuge during severe weather, this above-ground shelter enhances the peace of mind of families and the community by ensuring a safe space during storms in central Kansas.

This critical project was made possible through the generous support of multiple grantors who share our commitment to community safety. We are deeply grateful to the Brown Memorial Foundation, whose donation helped bring the vision closer to reality, and the Sunderland Foundation for significant support toward the construction of the shelter. Additionally, assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) through applicable hazard mitigation funding programs helped make this shelter a reality, reflecting a shared mission to protect lives during severe weather events.

The Village Manor Storm Shelter stands as a symbol of community partnership and forward-thinking planning, ensuring that those who call Village Manor home have access to enhanced protection when storms strike.
