Impact Sports and Fitness in Abilene announces the addition of Amanda Johnson to the staff as a class instructor. Amanda will be teaching yoga classes beginning in February.
“I’ve been doing yoga for over 15 years, and I have found my passion in teaching,” said Amanda. She started teaching over two years ago with the Kansas Department of Wildlife & Parks “Becoming an Outdoors Woman” program. “I sought my yoga teacher certification after my first time teaching, when I realized this is my passion.” She also works at Village Manor, in Abilene, and is coming up on being there for three years. “I love my coworkers and the residents there,” Amanda continued.
Amanda’s yoga class, “Everybody Flow,” will be on Wednesdays at 9:30 a.m. This class will unite your breath with your body, offering a variety of poses for all levels of practitioners. This class will get you energized and focused for your day. “Restore Flow” will be on Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m. This is a class focusing on stretching the muscles and releasing tension from the day. Melt away your stress and nurture your soul.
Amanda is from Abilene, and moved back home about four years ago. “I’m so glad to be back in our community,” said Amanda enthusiastically. “I’m thrilled to be at Impact Sports and Fitness and to be a part of the wonderful team there.” When she isn’t working, Amanda loves spending time with her husband, three kids, and two dogs. She also enjoys hiking, kayaking, and anything outdoors. Impact Sports and Fitness is excited to add Amanda as a class instructor to their staff of fitness professionals.
