MHS Employees Raise $822 in November Jeans Day to Support Local Resident Gary Lambert

ABILENE, Kan. — Employees of Memorial Health System (MHS) once again united to support a community member in need through the November Jeans Day fundraiser, raising $822.00 for Gary Lambert.

Gary suffered severe injuries in a motorcycle accident this past June while traveling home from North Dakota. He sustained a broken back, pelvis, both knees, and multiple fractures in his femur. Gary was airlifted to a hospital in Minnesota where he immediately underwent surgery, with several more procedures to follow. The donation will assist Gary and his family with ongoing medical expenses during his long road to recovery.

Each month, MHS employees can donate a minimum of $2 for the privilege of wearing jeans to work. Funds collected are then directed to a selected individual, family, or organization in need. The initiative is coordinated by the MHS Employer of Choice (EOC) Committee and reflects the ongoing commitment of staff to support others beyond hospital walls.

A check presentation was recently held to recognize the November contribution with Gary and his wife Cindy.
