Kimberly Haverly, Hospital Administrator

Kimberly Haverly became the Hospital Administrator at Memorial Health System (MHS) on July 1, 2025.

Haverly brings over 14 years of experience in health care leadership. Before joining MHS, she served as the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer at Carroll County Memorial Hospital in Carrollton, Kentucky. In this dual role, she led strategic initiatives that improved financial performance, increased patient volumes, advanced provider recruitment, and elevated the quality of care.

Haverly has also held leadership positions in rural hospital administration, large physician group management, and in the areas of finance, revenue cycle, and supply chain operations. She has a strong track record of building high-performing teams and forging partnerships that support long-term sustainability and community health improvement.

Originally from a farm near Nicholasville, Kentucky, Kimberly is passionate about rural health care and enjoys the connection and quality of life that small towns offer.

She earned her degree in Accounting from Sullivan University in Louisville, KY, and is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. She is also active in professional development and rural health care advocacy.

Haverly enjoys traveling, being outdoors, and spending time with family and friends. She is excited to lead Memorial Health System into its next chapter of growth, innovation, and community service.

Angie Johnson, Chief Nursing Officer

Angie Johnson, MSN, RN, became the Chief Nursing Officer at Memorial Health System in December 2018. Prior to being the Chief Nursing Officer, Johnson was the lead nurse in Heartland Health Care Clinic located at Memorial Hospital.

Angie is a graduate of Kansas State University, with a degree in Computer Science. She worked as a computer programmer for a couple of years, but decided that wasn’t her passion. She graduated from the Nursing program at Kansas Wesleyan University, and immediately joined the workforce in Nursing. She later received her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree from Western Governors University.

She has 15 years of nursing experience including employment at Geary Community Hospital, where she served as House Supervisor in charge of day-to-day operations of the hospital reporting to the Director of Nursing. In this role, Johnson assisted all units with medical procedures, medication administration, and patient care-including obstetrics. Johnson has also been the Charge Nurse on the Cardiac Step-down Unit at Salina Regional Health Center and has served as an Adjunct Nursing Professor at Kansas Wesleyan University. Additional nursing roles include working as a school nurse for three local school districts and working for the Dickinson County (Kansas) Health Department.

She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her role as Chief Nursing Officer.

Elgin Glanzer, Chief Financial Officer

The Chief Financial Officer, Elgin Glanzer, began his career with Memorial Health System in 1994 and has worked in the healthcare industry since 1988. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Tabor College in Hillsboro, Kansas, and a Master of Business Administration degree from Wichita State University in Wichita, Kansas. He is a Certified Healthcare Financial Professional, a member of the Healthcare Financial Managers Association, and has earned the designation of Fellow of Healthcare Financial Managers Association. He is a past president for the Sunflower chapter of Healthcare Financial Managers Association. He has served in numerous capacities in church leadership.  He has dedicated his life career to serving in non-profit organizations.

Elgin married his wife, Sheree, in 1980.  They have two married children Nick married to Roxanne and Heidi married to Daniel.

Elgin is responsible for assisting management and administration in making financially responsible decisions and maximizing resource utilization in the areas of materials management, computer information systems, health information management, and reporting financial information. He also develops controls to ensure proper use and authorization of hospital monies.

Sara Boyd, Senior Director of Operations

The Senior Director of Operations, Sara Boyd, began her career with Memorial Health System in 2013 as a Licensed Practical Nurse on the ROSE Behavioral Unit.  She obtained her licensure from Brown Mackie College in Salina, KS and continued her educational journey earning both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Nursing Leadership and Management from Western Governor’s University.

Sara was a Nurse Manager for the ROSE Behavioral Unit for eight years before joining the team in administration.  She also serves as Co-Chair on PFAC (Patient and Family Advocacy Council) and Vice-Chair of the Employer of Choice Committee.

Sara and her husband, Jeff are long-time residents of Abilene.  Jeff is an Abilene native and Sara is from Moundridge, Ks.  Together they have three children; Braxton, whom they share, is in grade school, along with Carli and Luke from Sara’s first marriage.  Carli is following in her mother’s footsteps; working to be a Registered Nurse, and Luke is a student at Kansas State University.  They also have a furry family member named Bentley.

Sara is responsible for assisting in the daily operations of Memorial Health System.  Sara brings clinical knowledge and patient care expertise to the team.  She has direct oversight of Respiratory Therapy, Lab, Radiology, Volunteer Services, Environmental Services, and the Dietitian with the Food and Nutrition Services Department.

Dr. William Short, Affiliate Physician Executive

Dr. Short is from Salina, Kansas.  He received his medical degree from KU School of Medicine in 1997, and chose to practice in Abilene to stay close to his family.  He has given care to this community for 25 years.

In October 2024, Dr. Short he left his clinic practice position to expand his role as the Affiliate Physician Executive.  He also the Wound Care Center physician; seeing patients on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and continues to serve as the Hospice Medical Director.

Dr. Short is a proud father of four children, who were raised in the Abilene community.
