Impact the Cause will be an annual 5K Run and 2 Mile Fun Walk in Abilene, Kansas. It is hosted by Impact Sports & Fitness, 418 N. Broadway.

*** PACKET/SHIRT PICK UP WILL BE PRIOR TO THE DATE OF THE EVENT – THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 11 AND FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 12 FROM 7:00 a.m. TO 3:30 p.m. – IN THE FRONT LOBBY OF MEMORIAL HOSPITAL IN ABILENE FROM 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Pre-registration: $30, includes Impact the Cause short-sleeved T-shirt.
Race day registration: $35, Impact the Cause T-shirt not guaranteed ($2 added if you require XXL size shirt).
5K Run
The Impact the Cause 5K
The run will begin at 8 a.m. A medal will be awarded to each male and female 5K finisher for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each age group.
2 Mile Fun Walk
The walk will begin at 8 a.m. (immediately following the start of the 5K). Noncompetitive – just come out for a walk, beginning at Memorial View Park & Walking Trail south of Memorial Hospital in Abilene, and help a good cause! BRING THE FAMILY!
FREE kids’ races starting at 8:45 a.m.
There’s a 100 Yard race for kindergarten & under, Down the Block race for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders, and the Around the Block race for 4th, 5th, and 6th graders. Plus additional activities for the kids. *There will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new playground, located within the middle of the walking trail, during Impact the Cause.
What is Impact the Cause?
Impact the Cause is a 5k Run and 2-Mile Fun Walk event that will help fund any and all community causes supported by Memorial Health Foundation. Impact the Cause is hosted by Impact Sports and Fitness, 418 N. Broadway, in downtown Abilene, Kansas.
Where do the funds raised go?
Funds raised from Impact the Cause are designated to support community organizations/groups, funds, and projects. The funds will be distributed by Memorial Health Foundation. The 2025 event will fund a youth health initiative, by providing a one month membership and a personal training session for ages 12 to 19 at Impact Sports and Fitness in Abilene.

Look for the booth–children can get a little face art done free of charge! Provided by the Abilene High School cheerleaders.
- “Non-Participant” But Would Like to Help the Cause
Can’t participate, but want to help a good cause? Just pre-register as a participant in the 2Mile Fun Walk, and receive an Impact the Cause t-shirt!

Businesses sponsoring a company team pay the entry fee for a number of their employees. This is a way to encourage health and fitness for your employees as well as promote your business. We encourage company teams to ‘wear their colors’ in support of their sponsoring business. Those who sponsor up to $500 or $250 in race entry fees will reap the benefits of GOLD or SILVER sponsorship level.
