June 6, 2026 ~ 8 AM to 12 PM ~ Village Manor

About the Walk

Steps of Support is a meaningful relay-style walk to raise awareness for four chronic conditions that affect many Village Manor residents:

Multiple Sclerosis (MS), Alzheimer’s/Dementia, Parkinson’s Disease, and COPD.

Participants are paired with a resident of Village Manor to walk with.  Most residents will only complete one lap around the trail, after which participants will complete their pledged laps for prize entry.

This is not a race to the finish, although there is some friendly competition involved.
This event focuses more on awareness through connection, compassion, and physical activity.

  • Every step supports awareness.
  • Every participant makes a difference.
  • Every resident gains a meaningful experience.

How it Works

  1. Register Online
Complete your registration between April 1 – April 30 to ensure your OPTIONAL t-shirt order.  Orders will be placed on May 1.
You may register and pay on the same day of the event, but t-shirts may not be available.

Want a t-shirt but don’t want to walk?  You can confirm your t-shirt order through the registration portal.

Registration of $10 and t-shirt payment of $20-22, will be expected upon arrival to event when you check in.  CASH OR CHECK ONLY PLEASE.
MHS EMPLOYEES – You will pay registration of $10 on the day of the event, but you may pick your t-shirt up from the Caring Hearts Gift Shop and have the option for payroll deduction if you so choose.

  2. Choose Your Lap Pledge
Select 1, 3, or 5 laps. One lap = one circle around the Village Manor walking trail.  For our competitive participants, walk the most laps for the event and win the grand prize!

  3. Walk with a Resident
    –   This is a come and go event as residents of Village Manor will be ready to walk at various times between 8am and noon.
    –   Upon your arrival to the event, you will be paired with a resident of Village Manor who will join you for the first lap of your walk. Most residents are unable to walk more than one lap, and many residents use wheelchairs. Residents in wheelchairs will be helped by a staff member, you will not be expected to assist.  If and when the resident chooses to stop walking, then you will continue additional pledged laps.

  4. Complete Your Pledge
    –   All participants will receive a pin and certificate for event participation.
    –   Finish your pledged laps to qualify for prize drawings.  For pledge laps not finished, participant names will be placed in the tier level that was reached. Everyone has a chance to win!
