Frontier Estates Celebrates 40 Years

Frontier Estates in Abilene recently celebrated its 40th Anniversary at the monthly residents’ dinner. Records show that the first resident, Bernice Fry, moved in to Frontier Estates on June 1, 1978. Abilene Housing Incorporated entered into a contract with the Housing and Urban Development (HUD) program on May 10, 1978. Frontier Estates is the project name, and has been home to many senior residents over the past 40 years. The first photo shows some of the residents gathered around the 40th Anniversary cake celebrating the special occasion. The second photo includes Sally Nelson, Frontier Estates Manager, and Harold Courtois, President of the Board of Directors of Abilene Housing Incorporated and Memorial Health System CEO, holding the cake.
Frontier Estates is an independent living 60-apartment complex for individuals ages 62 or over who meet HUD income guidelines.
