Nutritional Counseling

Nutritional counseling is available to those who are looking to adjust their diet to accommodate their health needs. Memorial Hospital inpatients or outpatients can be counseled on topics such as:

  • Cholesterol-lowering diets
  • Weight loss
  • Diabetic diets and other special diets
  • Any other nutrition-related subject.

Diabetes Support Group

The Dickinson County Diabetes Support group meets on the first Tuesday of every month (except August and December) in the Nichols Education Center, 1003 N Brady, Abilene.  The group provides education and support to diabetic individuals and their loved ones. Each meeting, a program is presented by a health care professional on a diabetes-related topic.
