MHS Employees Donate to Cans 4 Kansas Honor Flights

Employees of Memorial Health System (MHS) recently wore blue jeans at work for another “Jeans Day” fundraiser. Employees who made a donation of at least $5 were allowed to wear blue jeans on the last Friday of April. The day was organized by the MHS Employer of Choice (EOC) committee. A total donation of $210 was presented to the Abilene Chapter of Cans 4 Kansas Honor Flights. The Honor Flights program helps get veterans to Washington, D.C. so they may view the Veterans Memorial. Each round-trip flight costs approximately $800 per veteran. The group hopes to raise $28,000 this year. You can help by dropping of your aluminum cans in the trailer located in the parking lot of West’s Plaza Country Mart in Abilene. There is also a trailer located at Russell Stover’s Candies in Abilene, however, it is for employees only.
