Congratulations to Kandi Robinson, Revenue Cycle Director

Memorial Health System (MHS) is proud to announce the promotion of Kandi Robinson to Revenue Cycle Director.  Like so many other employees who work for MHS, Kandi is from Abilene, and they are proud to have so many staff members who chose to stay in this community and invest their talents in its organization.

Kandi was born at Memorial Hospital, and spent most of her childhood in Abilene attending Abilene schools.  At age 14, her family moved to Montana where they lived for only a couple of years before returning to Dickinson County.  She finished her schooling at Chapman High School where she graduated in 2002.

Kandi obtained a double Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Organizational Management in June of 2013 from Ashford University.  She decided to go even further to receive her Master’s Degree in Business Administration and graduated in 2015.  She did all of this while taking care of her three children, which is no easy feat and only helps to describe the kind of person Kandi is; determined and hardworking!

Prior to working for MHS, Kandi was an Office Manager for PM Sleep Lab/Advanced Medical DME in Salina for almost seven years.  She came to work for MHS in August of 2021 where she held the Office Manager and Billing Coordinator position at Home Heath & Hospice of Dickinson County, an affiliate of MHS.  While in that position, she proved just how valuable she was to the organization in many ways.  One of those ways in particular involved a major job task to “clean up” a rather large AR (accounts receivable) balance.  This involved fixing and resubmitting several claims.  She ended up collecting approximately $200,000.00 just from Medicare alone.  Her goal was to collect every dime, and she did just that.

“I applied for the Revenue Cycle Director position with hopes to be able to use my education and knowledge to help make a difference at MHS,” Kandi said.  In her new role, Kandi will be over the Patient Financial Services department, which includes hospital billing and registration.  She will also continue to help with Home Health and Hospice billing, and help with Village Manor billing as well.  Kandi is excited to take on all four of these areas. “What I love most about working in the accounting field, is feeling like I somehow, although maybe not directly, had an impact on someone else’s life.  I was always told growing up to treat people the way that you would want to be treated, and I believe that we should all strive to make that a goal on a daily basis.” She went on to say what inspires her professionally is to help employees and fellow team members grow and learn new things within the organization.  Kandi has been in customer service and dealt with the public in every job she has ever had and believes, “good communication and excellent customer service skills should be the top priority for all employees who work with individuals in our community.”

When Kandi is not crunching numbers, she spends most of her free time with husband, Michael, who she married in 2014, and chasing her three very active boys.  Jacobi is a high school senior, Jalen is a sophomore, and Jonavin is in 8th grade. When her time is her own, she enjoys reading a good book or working on diamond paintings; a very tedious and time-consuming art that she can find herself lost in.

Please help MHS congratulate Kandi on her new position.  She has worked hard to get to where she is at and deserves much recognition.  There is no doubt she will do great things as the new Revenue Cycle Director!
