Herington Hero Award Winner, Corkie Dunlap

BY:  Haley Jones, Director of Development and Marketing

Home Health & Hospice of Dickinson County in Herington, an affiliate of Memorial Health System in Abilene, has selected the next Herington Hero Award for December.  Congratulations Corkie Dunlap, and thank you for taking care of Herington!

When asking where Corkie can be found working and/or volunteering her time, the better question would be where isn’t Corkie? The answer is Corkie volunteers everywhere.  To name a few, she gives her time to the Family Resource Exchange, Herington Revitalization, St. Paul Lutheran Church, until recently; the hospital foundation, and so much more.

Corkie’s nomination had this to say about her:

“Corkie has been instrumental in painting our downtown murals.  She did a considerable amount of the paintings as well as the organizing.  She also organized putting exhibits in windows downtown.  She has definitely demonstrated exceptional service.  She is very talented and has excellent leadership skills.  Corkie inspires others with her love for our community.  She is kind, caring, and deserving of our thanks and appreciation.”

Home Health and Hospice of Dickinson County in Herington plans to continue doing this every month.  January 1 starts round eight of nominations.  If you know someone deserving of this award, and want to share it with the Herington community, please fill out the form online at: http://mhsks.org/herington-hero-award/ or stop by the Herington office at 11 N Broadway, we’ll be happy to see you!
