Personal Trainer / Massage Therapist Joins Impact Sports and Fitness

Impact Sports and Fitness in Abilene announces the addition of Mike Dreiling to the staff as a Nationally Certified Personal Trainer and Massage Therapist.

Mike had never been to Impact Sports and Fitness until he was invited to workout at the facility by another friend, who is also a member. After meeting Anita Larson, Impact Sports and Fitness Manager, his visit quickly turned into an opportunity to join the staff after discovering the need for recovery therapy at the facility.

Mike states, “recovery consists of three primary elements: rest/sleep, diet/nutrition, and active methods to stimulate our body’s own repair processes as quickly as possible, such as massage, medium to deep tissue work, scraping (to address what massage can’t reach), cupping, and proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) stretching. All of these methods will release knots, tightness, and pinched nerves and also increase mobility, range of motion, and return some resilience to your body so you can enjoy a greater sense of well-being.” Mike has benefitted greatly from these methods, and he knows that his clients can too.

Mike’s passion is fitness because it provides him with ways to challenge himself and achieve a higher quality of life. “Sharing that passion allows me to help others attain a higher quality of life and sense of well-being,” said Mike. “Exercise stimulates our body for potential growth and longevity, but stimulation is only half of the equation. The body needs to recover from that stimulation to be improved or maintained. It is much like taking our car to the shop for regular maintenance, except we can’t trade our body in for a new one, so it’s even more important to maintain what we have and improve what we can,” he continued.

Mike is originally from Chapman, and currently lives in Salina. He is married to Jennifer. “She has been a great support for me most of my life; I wouldn’t be where I am today without her,” Mike said. When he isn’t working out, Mike enjoys reading, learning, traveling, spending time outdoors, and soaking up life as much as possible.

Impact Sports and Fitness is excited to add Mike as a Massage Therapist and as a seventh Nationally Certified Personal Trainer to their staff of fitness professionals. For more information about Impact Sports and Fitness, an affiliate of Memorial Health System, visit mhsks.org/impact.
